I know it has certainly always been an attention getter for me

People just immediately assume you are different and better than your peers.

What is even more interesting is that Google pays attention too.

To get you those credentials I prepare and file a very interesting Press Release, from the standpoint that I, as a member of the press, have interviewed you.

This is from an interesting article on the relevance of Press Releases in 2019 you can see the whole thing here

What Are Press Releases?

Press Releases are a way of distributing and announcing events to the press. Google defines them as “an official statement issued to newspapers giving information on a particular matter”.

Usually, they come in written format, but they can also be in audio or video format.  Once someone has an event and wants it to become more popular, the best way to do it is to get the media’s attention, quickly and effectively.

But how can they do that? Well, the answer are press releases. You write a piece of content that will then be distributed to news publishers that might be interested.

Press Releases follow this line of events:

Event Happens > Press Release is Written > Press Release is Distributed to News Publishers > News Publishers Pick Up the Press Release > News is Published

Now don’t worry about an event having to be a world stopping event. An announcement, a new twist on an old practice, a change in the real estate market from your standpoint, these are great “events”

And once the Press release is pubished then what happens:

Well you now have press credentials which are yours forever:

How Do Press Releases Help SEO?

Having information about your company or an event published on big news sites is not only beneficial for your brand, but also for SEO.

How, you might ask? In most part, it’s about backlinks. If news publishers start talking about you, 1) not only can you get backlinks from the news sites themselves, 2) which hold a very high amount of equity, but 3) you can also score a high number of backlinks from other webmasters who will read the news.

We all know that building backlinks is one of the most difficult tasks for SEO. Building high quality backlinks is even harder. And don’t even get me started on how hard it is to do all this naturally, without buying them or using risky tricks such as PBNs.

Well, Press Releases combine all the 3 above, which makes it probably the best link building method available.

Why?

Well, it helps you build links rather quickly, the links are high quality and they’re all also completely natural and won’t result in any penalties. AND THESE LINKS ARE HARD TO GAME

But we all know Google is no longer all about the links as that can be gamed. So Google is looking for Quality.

Google Quality Guidelines

Press Releases satisfy Google’s Quality Quidelines to a T!

The fact that your content appears on a Press site allows Google to feel more certain that it really does show off someone with expertise, with authority and someone who is trsutworthy!

So Press Releases and the Citations don’t just impress people, they impress Google too!

But are Press Releases  a Ticking Time Bomb? Don’t they disappear in 30 days?

I know some will argue that press releases only have a certain amount of “shelf life” and industry standards are that PR content gets flushed every 30 days.

We are Different!

Our press release platform boasts live content on major media sites for 90-365 days vs. the standard 30 and also has built a proprietary permanent archiving feature to immortalize content forever (including the links in each press release pickup), to name a few of the advanced SEO features you won’t find in most other press release services or content marketing platforms.

Building entity authority is a multi-faceted strategy that should also involve a unique brand name whenever possible, branded social accounts, brand and NAP consistency, citation and location data management, engagement strategies and more.

Using high authority sites and strategic content placement on these authority sites is a foundational component of how we build entity authority to satisfy Google’s quality guidelines for authority. Press releases are a key part of this in no uncertain terms and have been for over 3 years.

I certainly recommend an omni-channel approach to the strategy of building brand or entity authority. Quality content should be placed, posted, shared, advertised, etc. If you start with real, quality content and then look to distribute and place that content everywhere, your high-authority link building is completely white-hat and what any author or expert would do if producing quality content for an audience interested in said topic or subject matter.

Consider the following ways that our Press releases are different:

Mike Hayes Interview

My partner, Mike Hayes, can also interview you.

Mike Hayes is formerly of NBC in NewYork, CNN in Los Angeles, 20 years in the info-mercial industry, 2 time Peabody Award winning documentary director, and currently Partner/Trainer with Google My Business.

While that interview is an addon to the Press Release, and not essential, I would highly recommend it. Mike has a way of bringing out the very best in people as he interviews them. You can use that interview everywhere.

Certainly it will be something that is very limited. Not many people have actually been interviewed by someone who was a professional interviewer on NBC.
